TryVino.com is another website that have used to test search engine algorithms. The first idea for the website was to develop an Argentine wine library. I built about 170 pages of unique content, all with META information to test keyword strategies and relevancy. I measured traffic impact on META information changes every two weeks. It was a fun experiment. I had a very eager blogger contributing to the site who added lots of pages of content.
My main goal was to rank the website for “Wine Tasting In Buenos Aires”
because I was promoting my mother’s friend sommelier school in Argentina. But because they charged a lot of money for their wine tastings in Buenos Aires - If I recall right, they wanted to charge about $150 per couple for wine tasting, they couldn’t convert. I suggested to go about $25 per couple but then it was not worth it for them.
After testing various strategies, I converted the site to be a supportive site for www.try2cook.com
